No Fisher, No Fun...

Derek Fisher will miss tonight's game vs Golden St - apparently due to family reasons. Fisher is quickly gaining on Howard Eisley as the most damaging player in my years watching the Utah Jazz; I hate watching him play and frankly, I'm glad he isn't playing tonight for the Jazz' sake. That said, he seems like a good guy and a good teammate (off the court) and I wish him and his family well.

...

The Warriors have been compared the Bulls this postseason in the way they dispatched fairly easily of their first round opponent, mainly due to the way they matched up favorably to the first round opponent. Both played the defending conference champions and both advanced to the second round. After watching the first two games of the Bulls/Pistons series, we can only hope they have similar failures in round 2.

It's good to see TNT has the good sense to show us the last two minutes of a blowout rather than cutting to the Jazz/Warriors game. Too bad for TNT and ESPN that they don't have a horse race or a boxing match to talk about tonight. Maybe they'll give us a WNBA preview in order to avoid talking about the Jazz.

Important questions to be answered tonight...

How do the Jazz get through this game without Fisher's leadership?

Does Giricek come out swinging and get himself benched in the first two minutes?

Without Boler, Booner and Fisher, we lack 75% of our unintentional comedic potential - can Harpring pick up the slack?

Thanks to TNT, we've missed the first basket of the game - scored by the Jazz.

Dick Stockton is calling Biedrins - "Biedrish" - Stockton was bad in the mid-80s - he makes Steve Brown look good these days.

Imagine this - the Jazz have a 6'6" SG playing against a 6'6" SG. hmmmm

Larry Kirilenko with the 19 ft jumpshot followed by a layup off a pass from Deron Williams. AK must be looking especially like Boozer tonight.

The Jazz gutting it out so far with their 6'6" SG and lack of leadership on the court.

The biggest question in my mind right now? When will the first IJSPD happen? 3...2...1..

Did Al Harrington score in the 1st round?

Does Matt Barnes get more tattoos in his sleep?

I think we just found somebody who Memo can score on in the post.

The IJSPD watch is over - Harpring in the game - the Jazz were rolling and up by 7.

So let's recap - IJSPD. Harpring in the game with the Jazz up by 7 - less than a minute later, the game is tied.

The Jazz could really use a big wing player who can play some defense and show some athleticism in this series - oh well, maybe they can find somebody like that in the draft.

Second IJSPD of the game - Dee Brown checks in. Brown checks in - Jazz up by 3. 1 minute later, the Jazz are down by 2. Five point swing in less than a minute with the second IJSPD of the game.

I don't know if I've ever seen more wasted movement from a player than I see watching Dee Brown. Warriors playing about 8 feet off of Dee Brown out on the perimeter.

Millsap in foul trouble, Fisher not playing - Sloan going to the bottom of the barrel to keep Brewer on the bench.

Stephen Jackson: The Leader.

Jazz leading 37-35 at the end of the 1st quarter - nice to see the Jazz are playing their game.

Would you say they're not guarding Dee Brown?

I predict Sloan will not play Brewer unless all other players have either fouled out or died.

Love the blog by the way, But just wondering if there is a little Bill Simmons influence here (the Matt Barnes extra tattoo line struck me as quite familiar). I just discovered this site the other day, and I have loved it so far, keep up the good work.

I think there's clearly some Bill Simmons influence solely in the fact that we've been keeping live blogs. That's pretty much HIS format.
